GWA x ROV "The Baron" Castlerock Grey

GWA x ROV "The Baron" Castlerock Grey

Coming off the Highland drop I wanted to end the year with an understated bag.  I love my highland camo but it’s not for every occasion.  Introducing Castlerock Grey, an aged grey in rugged twill that will fit as nicely in the office as it will outdoors.

For me ROV has always been about the classic vibe of material and colors that will age nicely in use.  Bags and accessories for your carry that are meant to be used and abused.  I always strive to make sure my liners are as functional as they are good looking.  There’s no point in looking good if the bag doesn’t function well.  I decided to bring back the same tan liner from the highland bag.  I love the contrast it gives, both with the outer color and in the ability to find your stuff in the bag.

Heavy rugged twill is back, 18oz as always.  I love the way it moves with me and handles abuse.  It is cotton but I don’t mind some battle scars.  You can add wax as you’d like but the fabric is treated with a water repellant treatment stock.

Wouldn’t be a baron without a ballistic bottom panel.  I love the functional nature here.  Yes twill is tough, but the ballistic bottom will handle the ground better and repel water more easily due to the properties of the fabric.  It also brings a nice bit of contrast and ties in the other accents of the bag.

It goes without saying but I still love the Citadel micro form factor. It’s perfect for EDC or a weekend trip. The org is perfect, it’s flexible, and it allows for quick access to all my regularly used stuff. The water bottle pocket and pals loops provide added utility. As always it pairs perfectly with your choice of Hilt.  It’s the ultimate balance of form and function.
